What we're working on

We don't ship anything that only half works. Below is what we are building, what stage it is at, and exactly what you can already try today.

First project

The Blind Mage: a world you explore by ear

A mobile role-playing game designed from the ground up for blind and partially sighted players. It has no graphics: the entire world is conveyed through 3D spatial audio and haptic feedback.

You play a blind mage, for whom the absence of sight is not a limitation but a source of power. He hears what others cannot see, and no illusion can deceive him. The story is told from three perspectives: a narrator, the player's companion, and the character's own inner voice.

This is not a game that was "made accessible". It did not start life as a graphical game with audio cues added afterwards. We built it the other way round: starting from sound, with blind testers involved from the concept stage.

We want the game to absorb, entertain and teach: building spatial awareness, careful listening and confidence, but above all simply being a good game you want to come back to.

What the game does differently

  • 3D spatial audio instead of graphics. The position of characters, objects and obstacles follows from where and how the sound reaches you.
  • Haptics as a second information layer. The phone confirms actions and warns you without requiring you to look at the screen.
  • Touch controls designed for use without sight, rather than borrowed from graphical games.
  • Full screen-reader support (VoiceOver, TalkBack) across the interface and menus.
  • Natural character voices through our participation in the ElevenLabs Impact Program.

Where we are

The game is at an early stage, but a demo is already available free on Android and iOS, in Polish. The game will stay free: no price, no advertising and no in-app purchases.

And this is only the beginning

We are building an editor that will let blind people create their own adventures and share them with others. Our goal isn't to make one game for blind people, but to hand them the tools to make their own.

Demo in testing

Play the demo

Free on Android and iOS, in Polish. Headphones recommended, because spatial audio is the primary information channel here, not decoration.

The demo goes out through testing programmes, so you join the testers first and then install the game the usual way.

We are looking for blind and partially sighted people to play the game and share what they think. It is the single most useful kind of support we need right now.

Partners

We are not doing this alone

A game without graphics makes demands nobody meets on their own: it needs good voices, good sound, and people who will say whether it works. Here is who helps us with that.

  • ElevenLabs

    ElevenLabs

We take part in the ElevenLabs Impact Program. Their technology gives the characters in our game natural voices. And in a game where all the information travels through sound, speech quality is the interface, not decoration.

  • Heavys

    Heavys

The headphones our world sounds right on. 3D spatial audio is what carries the position of characters and obstacles in the game, so what you listen through is not a minor detail.

  • Polish Association of the Blind

    Polish Association of the Blind

The largest organisation of blind people in Poland. They support the project and test the game with us, which is how what we build reaches the people it is for before we finish it.

Our method

How we test with users

Testing isn't a stage that follows the engineering here, it is how we decide what to build. In practice that means three things:

  • Blind and partially sighted testers from the start. We put new mechanics in front of people who play without sight before we finish them, not after release.
  • Consultation with disability organisations. We work with the Polish Association of the Blind, the largest organisation of blind people in Poland, and with the Szansa - Jesteśmy Razem Foundation, organiser of the REHA for the Blind in Poland conference and Accessibility EXPO.
  • An open feedback channel. Our Discord server has a channel where we collect comments as they come, including critical ones.

In our interfaces we aim at the WCAG guidelines, on this page too. You can enlarge the text, turn on high contrast, a more readable font, underlined links and reduced motion.

Play it and share your opinion

Testers' voices change our projects more than anything else. If you play without sight, or know someone who does, please get in touch.
